The laser cutting machine system generally consists of a laser generator, an (outer) beam transmission component, a workbench (machine tool), a microcomputer numerical control cabinet, a cooler, and a computer (hardware and software).
Laser generator
For the purpose of laser cutting, except for a few cases using YAG solid-state lasers, most of them use CO2 gas lasers with high electro-optical conversion efficiency and can output higher power. Since laser cutting requires high beam quality, not all lasers can be used for cutting.
CNC cutting machine
It consists of three parts, namely the workbench (usually a precision machine tool), the beam transmission system (sometimes called the external light path, that is, the transmission optical and mechanical components of the beam in the entire optical path before the laser beam reaches the workpiece) and the microcomputer numerical control system. According to the way the cutting cabinet and the table move relative to each other, it can be divided into the following three types:
1. During the cutting process, the beam (shot by the torch) moves with the table, typically the beam moves in the Y direction and the table moves in the X direction.
2. During the cutting process, only the beam (torch) moves and the table does not move.
3. During the cutting process, only the table moves, and the beam (torch) is fixed.
Five-axis machine
Industrial production sometimes encounters the problem of cutting three-dimensional components, while the general two-axis and three-axis laser cutting machines can only cut two-dimensional planar workpieces, which requires a cutting machine equipped with a robot, that is, a five-axis machine.
Laser cutting machine
Over the years, foreign countries have developed laser cutting machines with integrated laser cutting and mechanical punching technology. These machines use mechanical methods to punch out the inner hole of a complex-shaped workpiece, and then cut the outer edge by laser cutting and require long-distance cutting. Lines.
The feasibility of laser cutting the workpiece before cutting and the problems that may occur during the cutting process are pre-considered. For example, can such materials be laser cut? Where is the difficulty of cutting? Do you need to test the sample? How to achieve the quality and accuracy requirements of cutting? Where is the starting point of the workpiece cutting? and many more.
There are many factors affecting the quality of laser cutting. One of the important advantages of laser cutting is that it can control the main factors in the process, so that the cut workpiece can fully meet the customer's requirements, and the repeatability is very good. These main factors are composed of process parameters such as cutting speed, focus position, assist gas pressure, and laser output power.
